How Canadians do business has changed. Adopting digital technologies can be critical in being competitive in today’s marketplace. The NWT Business Development and Investment Corporation (BDIC) wants to help small businesses in the NWT grow and thrive by going digital.
The BDIC, in partnership with the Government of Canada and Digital Main Street, is delivering the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP), specifically the Grow Your Business Online stream, in the Northwest Territories. The CDAP initiative aims to help small businesses get their business online, boost their e-commerce presence or help digitalize operations.
Eligible businesses will receive a micro-grant of up to $2,400 to help with the costs related to adopting e-commerce and will be supported by a network of e-commerce advisors.

Quick Facts:
• In Budget 2021, the Government of Canada announced $4 billion to fund the Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) to help get businesses online, enhance their e-commerce presence or to help digitalize their business’s operations.
• CDAP provides funding and support to businesses, as well as student training and capacity building employment opportunities in the e-commerce and digital space across Canada. CDAP has two streams: Grow Your Business Online stream and Boost Your Business Technology stream.
• The BDIC has partnered with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), a department of the Government of Canada, to deliver CDAP, specifically the Grow Your Business Online stream, in the Northwest Territories over the next three years.
• The Grow Your Business Online stream provides qualifying businesses with a $2,400 grant and in-kind support to build e-commerce and digital capacity.
• To support this initiative, the BDIC is working with Digital Main Street to roll out a platform that will allow us to distribute micro-grants across the NWT and train e-commerce advisors who can assist entrepreneurs in growing their businesses online.
