We are delighted to announce a new name for our organization, Prosper NWT. Upon enactment of the Prosper NWT Act, the name of the organization officially changed from the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation (BDIC) to Prosper NWT.
The name Prosper NWT is better aligned to what the organization would like to do and accomplish, which is to bring greater prosperity to NWT businesses and communities. The organization has ambitious plans to help create more opportunities for NWT entrepreneurs and businesses, and the name, Prosper NWT, reflects this optimism and the organization’s vision and mission.
Prosper NWT’s mandate, as established under the Prosper NWT Act, is to support the economic objectives of the Government of the Northwest Territories in a manner that benefits the people and the economy of the NWT by:
- Encouraging the creation and development of businesses
- Providing financial assistance to businesses
- Directly investing in businesses and providing management support
- Providing information and support to businesses and members of the public
